Description
Manufactured by ENMAK Makina, the pneumatic knife gate stock valve is an industrial valve widely used across the paper and pulp industry as one of the best solutions for automatic flow control in confined spaces. Its one-piece stainless plate and full-bore body eliminate the fiber build-up, jamming and constant cleaning problems experienced with globe, cone and conventional gate valves — providing trouble-free operation. Built with engineering expertise dating back to 1975, our pneumatic knife gate stock valves fit modern automated production lines perfectly, with a wide size range from DN 50 to DN 600, PN16-standard flanged connections and a PLC-ready pneumatic actuator.
Working Principle
Designed for automatic flow control in confined spaces, the pneumatic knife gate stock valve is the solution of choice across the paper and pulp industry. The valve works by a one-piece stainless steel blade (plate) moving vertically inside the body under the control of the pneumatic actuator mounted on top.
When compressed air is supplied to the actuator, the piston in the cylinder drives the blade up or down; the blade cuts across the flow channel for full closure or full opening. Commanded by solenoid valves for integration with plant automation, the valve can be opened or closed in seconds at the push of a panel button or by a PLC command.
The full-bore body prevents fiber build-up, jamming and clogging. By eliminating the fiber accumulation and constant cleaning problems that conventional globe, cone and gate valves suffer with stock and fibrous fluids, it fits modern automated production lines perfectly.
Key Features
Automatic Pneumatic Operation
Remotely operated via a compressed-air actuator; integrates with PLC and automation systems.
Fast Response Time
By nature, the pneumatic system responds far faster than manual valves — dependable in emergency stop and process control applications.
One-Piece Stainless Plate
Produced in various profiles, the one-piece stainless steel plate performs open-close duty flawlessly with high wear resistance.
Clog-Free Full Bore
The full-bore body prevents fiber build-up, jamming and clogging — easy, continuous operation.
PLC ve SCADA Uyumlu
Can be equipped with limit switches and position sensors, integrating fully with your existing PLC and SCADA systems.
Multi-Duty Flexibility
Comfortable in different duties — as a chest drain valve, a regulating valve or an in-line isolation valve.
PN16-Standard Flanges
Flanged connections are produced to the PN16 standard, mounting to existing pipelines without complications.
Low Maintenance
A robust mechanical design makes maintenance easy; replacement plates, seals and actuator spares ship quickly from our stock.
Technical Considerations
- Operating Pressure: Maximum 4–6 bar
- Operating Temperature: 80 °C (depending on material)
- Flange Connections: To the PN16 standard
- Actuator: Pneumatic (operates on compressed air)

Applications
The pneumatic knife gate stock valve serves on every industrial process line where fibrous, solids-laden fluids must be controlled automatically. It is above all indispensable in highly automated modern paper mills.
Main application areas:
- Automated Paper & Pulp Mills
Automatic flow control at pulper outlets, stock transfer lines and headbox feed lines on PLC- and SCADA-managed production lines. - Stock Preparation Lines
Preferred on the inlet and outlet lines of hydrapulpers, broke pulpers and agitator systems, in automatic filling and draining processes. - Recycling Plants
Remote-controlled operation on mixed stock lines in recovered paper plants, where plastics, strings and other contaminants may be present. - Board & Corrugated Plants
Serving automated stock distribution and transfer systems on test liner, fluting and corrugated board lines. - High-Capacity Production Lines
In fast, continuously running modern plants — on long pipelines and elevated valve positions where manual operation is impractical. - Wastewater & Sludge Lines
Automatic isolation duty on fiber- and solids-laden sludge lines in the effluent treatment units of paper mills. - Chemical Process & Food Plants
Used with confidence on automated process lines in the chemical, food and beverage sectors handling dense, fibrous or sticky fluids.
